The second unit at the Beylikova Biogas Power Plant, operated by our wholly owned subsidiary KD Gübre ve Enerji A.Ş., has entered production following acceptance by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. The new unit adds 1 MWe to the plant, whose first 1.56 MWe unit came online in 2020.
From waste to electricity and fertiliser
The plant turns animal manure and food and plant waste into biogas in heated digester tanks, and gas engines convert the biogas into electricity. The material left after fermentation is processed into organic fertiliser and sold under the KD Gübre brand.
The Beylikova plant holds generation licence EÜ/9275-1/04486, issued by EPDK in 2020 for a term of 49 years, and sells its electricity under the Renewable Energy Support Mechanism (YEKDEM).
